BMS bolsters Private Equity, M&A and Tax Insurance division with appointment of Stephan Simon

BMS, the independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, today announces the appointment of Stephan Simon as a director and head of warranty and indemnity insurance in the Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Tax Insurance division. He will report to Tan Pawar, managing director and head of Private Equity, M&A and Tax for BMS in London.

Simon has over 17 years’ M&A and legal experience and is a highly knowledgeable corporate lawyer and warranty & indemnity broker. He joins BMS from Aon UK where he held the role of director, M&A and Transaction Solutions since 2015. Simon has extensive experience in advising clients around the strategic use of transaction liability insurance on M&A deals, and the structuring and placement of large insurance programmes in the international insurance markets.

Prior to Aon, Simon was group legal manager at Legal & General Group PLC where he played a key role in advising the Group on a range of commercial deals, funds distribution and regulatory compliance, specifically within the insurance division. He is also a qualified lawyer and worked in the corporate department at Pinsent Masons LLP from the years 2006 – 2012.
